Message from the Principal
Cougars,
I hope this letter finds you well and filled with anticipation. As the principal of Del Rio School, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the start of a new academic year. The beginning of a new school year is always a time of fear, excitement, and possibilities. It is an opportunity for growth, learning, and forging new connections within our school community. Whether you are a returning student or joining us for the first time, I assure you that Del Rio School is committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment that supports your academic, social, character, and citizenship growth and development.
We have several priorities in place to ensure an exceptional educational experience for all our students:
· Academic Excellence: We remain dedicated to maintaining high academic standards and providing a curriculum that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and an intrinsic love for learning. Our talented, experienced, and passionate teachers will engage students in innovative teaching methods, promote fun, and help them reach their full potential.
· Social and Emotional Well-being: We understand the importance of fostering a supportive school climate where students feel safe, valued, and empowered. We will continue to prioritize the social and emotional well-being of our students through various programs and initiatives.
· Character education: We prioritize the development and fostering of positive character traits to enrich their lives and the overall campus and community culture. These traits are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
· Parental Involvement: We value the partnership between the school and parents/guardians. We encourage your active participation in your child's education and invite you to engage with our school community through various events, parent-teacher conferences, volunteering opportunities, and communication with your child’s teacher.
· Communication: Open lines of communication are essential for a successful school-home relationship. We will continue to maintain regular communication with parents and guardians through our school website, class dojo, Parent Square, and mailings sent home in your child’s backpack to keep you informed about important school news, events, and student progress.
I encourage all students to approach this new school year with enthusiasm, a positive mindset, and a commitment to personal growth. Remember that every challenge presents an opportunity for growth, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
I would like to extend a warm specific welcome to our new students and their families. We are excited to have you join our vibrant school community. We are confident that you will find Del Rio School to be a place where you can thrive.
For our returning students, I am thrilled to welcome you back for another year of growth and achievement. Your continued dedication and involvement make our school stronger and a good place to be.
As we embark on this new school year together, I invite you to embrace the spirit of being a Cougar. Let us work hand in hand to create an environment where every student can achieve success and become a good citizen.
I look forward to an enriching and rewarding year. Should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your teacher or the school. We are here to ensure that your experience at DRS is nothing short of exceptional.
It’s Always a Great Day to Be a Cougar!
